Dog Lover: Kirk has three dogs. Jaxx is a rescue Jack Russell Terrier who loves to bark and run.  When the back gate has been left open, Jaxx has toured all over West Knoxville and Bearden!  

Turbo is a Miniature Dachshund who was surrendered in 2012 and Kirk took him home.  He’s a snuggler and loves being inside a shirt or a coat!    

Chino is anything but Miniature!  He also goes by “fatass”!   He loves giving the side eye and he loves bellyrubs! 

Favorite Food: an inverted 4-way with onion at Skyline Chili.    

Favorite Drink: Dr Pepper.

Before moving to Knoxville, Kirk was a well-known Gospel singer, performing with The Hoppers, The Cathedral Quartet, The Talleys, and as a very successful soloist.  Kirk has won Dove Awards, Fan Favorite Awards and has written several #1 songs in Gospel Music .  

“What's wrong with your voice?”

Kirk suffers with Abductor Spasmodic Dysphonia, a muscular condition that restricts the muscles that controls his vocal cords.  His cords don't open and close correctly, so therefore, he has to whisper most of the time. 

“How did Kirk get into driving?”   

Kirk says,“I got bored one night years ago and decided to sign up to drive Uber.  I would drive after work, so I was always dressed up.  Passengers would always ask how they could get me again, so I just started passing out my card and they just started texting me directly.  I started getting texts every night, so I turned Uber off and started taking care of my customers who texted me. Word of mouth spread, and now, I’m out almost nightly with someone”.

“What's the craziest thing that has happened in your car while driving people? “

When I was driving Uber, I was taking a man and woman downtown.  I hear her starting to cry in the backseat.  “So you're taking me to dinner to tell me you want a divorce?” She yells!   She then starts yelling “pull over and let me out”.  I just keep driving!  Then she starts beating the back of my head and neck, yelling “let me out”.  The husband is saying “no” so I lean into the steering wheel to try and get out of her reach and just kept driving.   When I got to Market Square, they got out and went two separate directions!  Never saw them again! 

“Are you still at Dillards? “ 

Yes. I have been with Dillards 10 years. I work in the Men’s Polo Department as the Men’s Personal Shopper. I’ve been the #1 salesperson at my store for 10 consecutive years; and #2 in the entire company for the last 4 years.
